Fourth generation & forming partnerships

Acquisition of  Rushton Ablett

William Lamb had a well-established sourcing network of overseas offices and was able to offer a secure infrastructure to other companies who were also finding that UK footwear manufacturing was under increasing cost pressures from overseas suppliers.  In 2002, William Lamb partnered with Northampton based jelly and welly specialist manufacturer Rushton Ablett (RA) to develop their products overseas. Within two years William Lamb was offered all of their production, supervised by the William Lamb office. This was the start of a very strong relationship with RA which resulted in William Lamb acquiring the company in 2011 and extending their reach, knowledge and capabilities of jelly and welly manufacture.

Acquisition of Trademark Collections

In 2015, William Lamb acquired accessories manufacturer Trademark Collections (TMC). This strategic move diversified the business and added to the product offering with backpacks and luggage. As TMC was the preferred supplier for many existing WL partners the acquisition was another perfect synergistic opportunity and is now an integral part of William Lamb Group.

Buckle My Shoe

In addition to licensed children’s product, which was particularly suited to the volume market, William Lamb became eager to gain credentials in the premium sector. The opportunity arose to purchase Buckle my Shoe, a premium children’s brand sold in Selfridges and Harrods. The acquisition of the company was a great move, resulting in partnerships for William Lamb with these prestigious retailers.
